Moodboard#02

I love to see how my pins at Pinterest sometimes come together so nicely with a great colour combination or trend. Here´s what caught my eye lately  - while craving for a Lilac Spring.
Great styling & mixing by Eckmann Alive, Bathroom tiles in candy colours from Made a mano, Magnolia – via Yvonne Koné blog, Cotton shirt from J.Crew, pretty pattern by Lab Partners and a pretty nail polish by Essie.

Birthday Girl

My sweet daughter turns 9 years old very soon. Her biggest wish is a cat and having her ears pierced! She won’t get either just yet! But I’m tempted to get her some of these outfits from MILK Copenhagen which she picked out – and I would happily wear them myself. Their new Spring/Summer collection is online from today and once again they have hit the right casual cool look which we both like. This is not a sponsored post – just think they did a great job! P.S they only ship to Denmark and Sweden for now.

Year of the Snake

We always spend New Years in Asia. And over the years we have come to understand just HOW BIG the Chinese New Year is to a large number of people. And we always keep track of the current animal of the year – and our Chinese signs – I’m a dog! This sunday the Chinese Calender entered the year of the Snake. And the horoscope says:  We’re likely to see significant developments in the area of science and technology this year. Research and development are apt to flourish. This is a Water year as well, the element most closely associated with education and research, making 2013 a very special year for scientists and scholars. Snake is a great sign, a positive one, with energy that can help us face all of the challenges ahead of us. Read more here.

I generally like animal prints – used in small doses, and took a small tour to celebrate the year of the snake with some snake print & snake skin favourites. 1. Funky Wedge Trainers 2. Lovely Printed mini dress by Emma Cook. 3.Mulberry shoulder bag with snake-effect, 4. Silk & Cashmere scarf by Tattoo artist Horiyoshi the Third.

Welcome Emerald – Colour of 2013

I’m a curious graphic designer and couldn’t help myself testing Pantone’s colour of 2013 – Emerald. So here is some great colour combinations and ways to use the colour on yourself or in your home – it also works really well on the web I think. Emerald is considered to be the talisman of the goddess Venus and it represents faith, goodness and kindness. They are traditionally thought to enhance the clairvoyance of their wearers. And Pantone describes it as “Lively. Radiant. Lush… A colour of elegance and beaty that enchances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony.

Tangerine Tango

Did you tango with tangerine in 2012? I sure did. Every year Pantone announces a new colour of the year – and Tangerine Tango was the colour of 2012. I must say that in my case they were quite spot on – this vivacious, magnetic orange that radiates heat and energy has really grown on me – and I now own both a lipstick, a nailpolish, a pair of jeans, a wollen scarf and a wollen cardigan in this colour. Working with colours in a professional way every day – I´m aware that it is not a coincidence! – it´s also the colour I wrote about a year ago in this blogpost. It´s funny how you can fall in and out of love with a special colour – I used to love all kind of blue tones but I´ve changed and I’m now leaning towards red, pink and orange. If you are curious to discover the colour of 2013 you can see it here.

Tie Dye Trend

The old hippie inside me suddenly craves some Tie-Dye – after seeing the new collection of Tie Dye pillows from Bolia, and the cool t-shirts from Rabens Saloner at Ba10.dk. Strange how cool Tie Dye suddenly looks in black and white. Found the pillows here.

Wearable French Eye candy

Ohhhh these silk scarfs by french design duo Milleneufcentquatrevingtquatre – makes my heart beat a little bit faster. I can totally see myself wearing one of their pieces! So if one of my dear readers or dear Santa wishes to spend 295$ on me – then you can find all their designs here… and I promise to wear it every single day or to frame it! Aren´t they just gorgeous and totally inspiring?

Nordic Knit – Pillow love

Autumn has arrived here in Denmark – and it´s time to spend more time indoors and time to cozy up your home with blankets and candles – and maybe also with these lovely knitted pillows in wool. They are named New Nordic Knit and are designed by Sen-Sen, and can be found in their webshop soon. I immediately spotted these pillows when I looked at photos from the trendzones at Formland this summer. You can catch a glimpse of the trendzones at The Sweet Spot who also is behind the photo above, from the trendzone House of Happiness, created by Eckmann Alive Studio. I love the colours and the materials used. I´m a little slow when it comes to blogging these days – due to busy days at the studio – so please visit Spagat´s Facebook page – where I share bits and pieces on a more regular basis right now.

Going Out – for inspiration!

Lately I´ve spent way too many nights working – so I´m looking forward to going out tonight to get some new inspiration at the Vic Shop here in Aarhus. I´ll soak up some of the news in interiors & fashion – plus spend time with a lovely blogger friend, drink champagne, and listen to some great music. “My boss” prescribed that I have some fun after working so hard! Sounds like a perfect plan to me – maybe I´ll see you there?

My Orange Wish List

My current orange colour crush is adding these items to my wish list! The striped dress is from H&M and the rest is from the nice Dutch webshop Wannekes. Well in fact the wonderfull striped pillows have been on my wishlist for ages – with the rest of the products designed by the Dutch design duo Scholten & Baijings. And the cute nesting dolls Circus by Swedish illustrator Ingela P. Arrhenius makes me wish that I had a toddler in the house.
