Mere tid – Book cover design

I designed this book cover for a very special and important book that hit the shelves last week here in DK. The book is packed with helpfull tips and lessons on TIME management – and the authour behind it is one clever women! I participated in her Pimp My Time workshop 2 years ago – and I really believe she has saved my work life!

Another great thing about March is that it includes a trip to Bologna Childrens Book Fair. I´m so exited about going because it´s something I´ve wanted to do for the last 5 years. Imagine beeing surrounded by the smell of books, top-class illustrations, tons of Childrens book and Spagetti Bolognese in a gorgeous Italian city – It´s a dream come true! If you have any great recommendations about what to see and where to eat in Bologna – please let me know!? Above is a selection of the 2010 prize winners – more info here.

Inspiring word

This weekend we packed down our old studio – and moved to our new studio – and I found out that I collect papers and magazines like a mad women! – fortunately I´m also very good at clearing my clutter – but it seem like I have a week spot when it comes to paper! Another thing I collect like a mad woman is inspiring quotes – and this one is my favorite at the moment – I hope it will inspire you too. Found via Lotta Agatons great blog. Another thing I would love to share today is a post by Grace from Designsponge about Online Ethics Etiqutte - since I think it´s a must read for all bloggers – and I´m thankfull someone took the time to write all these words about all the unwritten rules about blogging.

Autumn Holidays

This is my last day at the office before our Autumn Holidays next week. I´ll spend next week in Edinburgh and really look forward to this holiday and to visiting Edinburgh for the first time. We have started to read Harry Potter for our daughter to get in the right mood and I´m so ready for a nice hotel room, High Tea, shopping and walking around with my camera. I´ll share some photos when I get back in a weeks time – and wish you all a great week – holiday or not.
As a small gift to my lovely readers I´ve turned my illustration above ( without text) into a free desktop wallpaper. Enjoy!

Have a colourful weekend

I´m not the first to post about designer and illustrator Owen Gildersleeve´s amazing work. But when a guy sits down and cut leaves out of paper it´s worth sharing – you can download them as a Iphone wallpaper via Poolga.com. Or you can try to create something similar at home. I wish you all a colourfull weekend :)

Sweet Eye Candy

I often crave eye candy – and today I found my dose in Sweet Paul´s Fall issue of his delicious e-Magazine. Here´s some screenshots from his take on a white Halloween – and  I recommend that you “pick up” your own copy online here. Theres so many amazing e-mags out there -and Holly from Decor8 made a great e-Mag round up lately that offers even more eye candy. When I see all these amazing e-Mags – the old magazine designer in me wakes up and wants more – so please send more candy and magazine design jobs my way!

Book Cover Inspiration #2

It´s been raining for the last 2 weeks now – so why not curl up with a good book and pretend it´s actually autumn, while we wait for the summer to come back? Or you can also just have a look at The Book Cover Archive which is an archive of book cover design and designers. It´s a place where you can easily spend way to much time browsing books – the only thing missing is the lovely smell of books and paper. This time I picked these blue and red covers – because it´s always a great match – and with some cream colours added – it´s even more delicious. Do you judge a book by it´s cover?

hyperactivitypography

I just received my copy of the book Hyperactivitypography – and love it to pieces (and plan to read it with my daughter to teach her typography) It´s sold out right now – but you can have a look here.

Package design

Opening a shop takes a little longer than expected – the products are ready – and the package design was done today – so tonight I´ll design the shop- and hopefully I´ll open it tomorrow. Stay tuned.
