Current Colour Crush

At the moment I’m completely smitten with the colours and details in Julia Rofman’s handwoven beaded bracelets.  I’m just learning how to use a bead loom -  but not sure I have the patience to add the last finishing touches like tassel ends and silver claps – so I’m also adding Julia’s creations to my wishlist – just in case!

Summer Colour Crush

Here´s my current Summer Colour Crush – and my favorite summer DIY.  As a part of my sweet doing nothing this summer my daughter and I made quite a few of these bracelets. It´s really not that complicated if you just mix & match – and it´s also quite addictive – Have fun!

Happy Summer days

My Danish part of the summerholidays starts right now – I´ll spend 2 weeks of sweet doing nothing in our summerhouse. Last summer I painted these stones so I could make up my own weather forecast – set in stone! I´ll be back in 2 weeks – have fun & enjoy (the sun)!

DIY Easter Eggs – part 2 – free download

It´s time to wish you all a Happy Easter – and time again to share my free download with DIY Easter Eggs & Rabbits. They are made with some of my repeat patterns and are super simple to make.
Print them out on thick A4 paper – cut them out and mix & match. Glue 2 eggs together with a piece of sewing tread in the middle – or make a string of eggs – et voila! The rabbits are a bit more tricky – so I´ve made a front and back version of them. Cut the front first – glue it to the back of the rabbit and cut the back afterwards.

DIY Easter eggs – part 1

Some DIY ideas are just so great that you have to try them out at once! So after I shared this DIY with masking tape from Creature Comfort on Twitter the other day – I went home to make my own version with my daughter. It was a big succes – so I´ll just share it here also so you will not miss it. You can find all the instructions here at Creature Comforts blog. We used Parchment Paper – but I think baking paper will work even better. And our final results was put directly on the window glass – and the left overs was cut into little cute stickers. Have fun!

I´m not the first to post about designer and illustrator Owen Gildersleeve´s amazing work. Impatient Paper Flowers

To celebrate the 2010 International Women´s Day I would like to share this simple DIY-idea with you. I came up with this idea when I looked at my cherry blossom branches which I´m impatiently waiting for to bloom.  I cut some simple paper flowers which are both quick and easy to make. See the drawing above for the size, and start by cutting a hole in the size of the branch – then cut 5 petals around the hole – and wrap the flower around the branch – you might have to vary the size of the hole from branch to branch. I used plain white paper – and painted a yellow circle around the hole on some of the flowers – I think thick paper will work great too. P.s After I posted this I suddenly realized where my inspiration also came from. Last month at Formland I saw these flowers by PFISK, and loved the idea – so if you don´t enjoy cutting – you can buy these - which are a bit more sturdy than paperflowers. Inspiration is everywhere – sometimes I don´t know where it came from – but when I do remember -  I want to give credits.

Trendy dip-dye

I´m quite smitten with the whole gradient and dip-dye trend that´s going on. And I think the journals here from Anthropologie would also be a great DIY-project to try at home with some watercolours and a sewing machine. The cocktail dress by Alice + Olivia was the dress I wanted to wear last summer for our wedding party – but it didn´t fit me at all so I had to return it – but never has a dress made my heart beat so fast! The childrens clothes shown are made by Hollys and the book with the yellow gradient is found via Ffffound - and it all makes me think of SUMMER!
