Enjoy & Relax!
My summerholidays start today – and the blog and my studio will be quiet for the next 3 weeks. I wish you all a wonderful summer – take care!

Geneology
Besides all the design jobs in the studio, the goodbye parties for Nanna in the Kindergarten and all the kitchen planning lately – I´ve also spend some time putting together a small book about my mothers side of the family – The Johansen Family. My aunt has collected lots of photos and clippings and written a little about both my grandparents & my great grandparents. It´s been so nice and touching to see all the photos and to read about their lives. I made the photo book via Iphoto, and also made a family tree via Geni.com – and I really recommend both services. My great grandparents had 5 children – but only my grandfather and his older brother who emigrated to the U.S had kids – and right now 3 of those ” kids” (my mom, my aunt and their cousin) are reunited in California together with their daughters and grandchildren. It´s such a nice thought and it warms my heart – and I´m thinking so much of them all right now and wonder if my interest in geneology is a clear sign that I´m getting old!!
Above is my maternal great grandmother, my grandfather, my paternal great grandmother, my grandmother and my paternal great grandfather – all chilling in the backyard!
More Black & white
Maybe you can tell thay my interior decorating side is very much alive these days – cause here´s some more black and white inspiration – from RosenbergCph´s website. RosenbergCph is a danish company that design and produce articles for the home, and clothes for women and children. I think their patterns are modern classics – and enjoyed seeing their products in situ at their press page – and the pillows are of course on my wishlist!
Black & white kitchens
This weekend we tore down most of our old kitchen in the summerhouse. We took down the upper cabinets which will be replaced with open shelves instead – and already now the room looks so much brighter and bigger – and I can´t wait for the final result! The pictures above are from my inspiration folder - I´m not sure where I found the photos apart from the bottom left, which is from Made a Mano´s website – I just love those big ceramic tiles! I took a lot of “before” pictures and plan to share the final result after the summerholidays.
Airy Summer drawings
I just saw these airy drawings by US artist Aidan Koch via Housemartin – and they really insprired me to sit down and doodle with my watercolours during our summerholiday. Maybe they will inspire you to doodle too.
Jurianne Matter
I´m still here – and still very busy before my summerholidays – so meanwhile I´ll just share this lovely moodboard and the cute paper flowers of the dutch designer Jurianne Matter. She is a freelance designer and product stylist who designs her own paperwork, but also design patterns for other companies.
